In traditional blister packs, thermoformed plastic sheets contain and hold the medicine in multiple cups (blisters) in a desired state. Cold-formed blister packs are made by sandwiching aluminum foil between PVC and nylon films through dry adhesive lamination. The film laminate can be pressed into the mold through a compression mold without heating, and the use of aluminum increases the barrier properties of water and oxygen, thereby extending the shelf life of the product to the expiration date.

In the new aluminum foil composite film packaging, the unique polyester film replaces the traditional nylon and PVC while retaining aluminum. This is because PVC and BON (biaxially oriented nylon film) are easily emitted under direct sunlight and high temperatures. “Aluminum foil is a multi-layer structure, which can provide a high degree of safety for highly hygroscopic or photosensitive drugs and generic drugs, and it cannot be packaged with barrier plastic film properly.
