Made in China V.S Made in Vietnam

The Export of Pharmaceutical Packaging Materials

As early as before the COVID-19, after the trade war, production and the foundry of large factories began to move out of China, looking for new suppliers to produce large countries. Under such a premise, Vietnam's manufacturing industry has ushered in a new opportunity for development.

Historical reasons
Vietnam is an emerging industrial land in Asian countries. These new suppliers produce similar quality to China at low cost. And Vietnam is a big manufacturing country, and it has exported to South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, European and Asian countries long ago. Vietnam has developed rapidly in recent years and the country is also a global leader in the packaging industry with low labor costs.

International supply market for the pharmaceutical industry
Vietnam does have a lot of export data on finished products such as electronic products and packaging materials, but the raw materials for all these finished products and semi-finished products mainly rely on imports. Among them, the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam has to be mentioned.
The raw and auxiliary materials of the local pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam are highly dependent on imports, and its main partners are China and India. Vietnam consumes about 60,000 tons of pharmaceutical ingredients and related packaging materials every year. Most of the local packaging materials manufacturing in Vietnam also need to import aluminum foil, plastics and other raw materials, and then process them. On the one hand, due to the abundant resources of raw materials in China, the demand for orders in China's raw and auxiliary materials processing industry is still very stable. The surge in foreign orders in Vietnam has caused a second rise in domestic material prices in the short term. Therefore, Vietnam still has some time to go before it can replace China's dominance in the supply chain of raw and auxiliary materials in the pharmaceutical industry.

Made in China crisis
Although the supply chain status of MADE IN CHINA will not be shaken in the short term, the changes in the international situation and the impact of the epidemic have all felt the impact and potential risks as export trade manufacturers. The layoffs of large factories and the withdrawal of international companies from China are all negative judgments on the economic situation in the next few years. The traditional price advantage of Chinese manufacturing is no longer so obvious, and emerging industrial countries are also emerging. If you can refer to MADE IN GERMANY, from the price advantage made in China to the quality advantage or cost performance advantage made in China, there may be a new path for development.

Alu-Alu and Alu-Blister are two kinds of packaging method for food, medicine and nutrition industry especially for hard tablets and capsules. Then what is the difference between these two ways and how to choose the proper ways of packing for your own products, you may want to dig inside.
JEREL Pharma Pack will attend 2023 Algeria Maghreb Pharma Expo from February 5th to 7th with booth no. J21.   Jerel has been exporting pharma packing materials to North and South Africa since 2010. With over 10 years cooperation with African pharmaceutical companies and printing factories, Jerel has gain great support from Africa market.   It is the very first station that JEREL goes after 3 year of COVID-19, hope to see all new and old friends within this exhibition.   Contact person on booth: Skylar Min (email: skylarmin@jerelpack.com, whatsapp:86-13776425960) Spring Zhou (email: zc@jerelpack.com, whatsapp:86-13852707562)
As a supplier of pharmaceutical packaging materials that has always been export-oriented and supplemented by domestic sales, today we will talk to you about the differences in the procurement of pharmaceutical packaging materials for domestic and foreign customers!
There are several major producers of pharmaceutical packaging materials in the world, which basically monopolize the global pharmaceutical packaging material market, and each has a strong regional competitive advantage. Then China's pharmaceutical packaging materials go overseas, and even go to foreign high-end markets, what opportunities and challenges are there in the middle, let us take an inventory.

From the perspective of the international market, the world has entered the post-epidemic era since March. There are many rhetoric about China's manufacturing, China's export, and China's supply chain. Today, we will talk about the export trend of the pharmaceutical packaging industry after the epidemic from the perspective of a producer and an exporter.
As blister packaging materials with high barrier properties, PVC/PVDC film and cold form aluminum foil for pharmaceuticals are popular choices for pharmaceutical packaging materials. For the selection of materials, what factors need to be considered in order to protect the drug itself and be economical? Today we will briefly sort it out.
Cold-formed foils have been successfully used in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and in vitro diagnostics - point-of-care test kits for many years. The demand for cold-formed foils continues to grow and evolve as research scientists continue to create innovative solutions. Therefore, it is critical to have a good understanding of the specific requirements these foils need to meet, how to achieve the desired properties, and how requirements and material design affect the overall packaging design.
As a common packaging material on the market, blister packaging is widely used due to its superior barrier effect and independent packaging. But because blister packs are made of a complex combination of polymeric materials, including metal and plastic, recycling has been controversial. Can blister packs really be recycled?
As the popularity of vitamins and other health products continues to rise, health product manufacturers must ensure that their products are properly packaged to minimize consumption risks. But as a product in the middle of food and medicine, what are the specific packaging requirements for health care products?
8 Trends & Analysis of Packaging in Pharmaceutical Industry:The use of blister packs continues to grow,Pay more attention to child-resistant packaging,Plastic bottles are in the highest demand,Is sachet packaging out of date?,Increased use of prefilled syringes,Shelf impact and environmental protection become more important,Packaging design with patients first,Packaging focuses on consumer engagement
The blister packaging of tablets and capsules that end consumers buy from pharmacies or hospitals, is often printed with various text descriptions, drug names, dosages, or just the LOGO of the drug manufacturer on surface of aluminum foil. These printed products all look the same, but in fact it generally contains two common printing methods. Today we will discuss how to choose the most economical and applicable aluminum foil printing method from the perspective of pharmaceutical companies!   First, let's sort out how these two printing methods are distinguished. 1. We can start with structure. Unprinted medicinal aluminum foil is mainly composed of three parts: protective agent, aluminum foil, heat sealant (from outside to inside). The printed layer can appear on the outermost layer of the protective agent (ink, primer, aluminum foil, heat sealant), or between the protective agent and the aluminum foil (primer, ink, aluminum foil, heat sealant). 2. It can be divided from purchasing channels. If the source of purchase is a printing house/factory, then there is a 90% chance that the printed aluminum foil you purchase will be printed on the outermost layer. If it is directly purchased by the source manufacturer, it is usually printed on the middle layer.   Then another question arises, what are the pros and cons of these two printing methods? We also have a deep understanding of it from several angles. 1. The degree of wear resistance of printing. The aluminum foil printed on the outermost layer is less resistant to abrasion. During transportation, if bumped or scratched, the printed pattern on the surface will fall off to varying degrees. Therefore, in terms of printing durability, the aluminum foil printed between the protective agent and the aluminum foil (protective agent, ink, aluminum foil, heat sealant) is better. 2. Printing MOQ. For the packaging of new products, the initial quantity may be small, and the MOQ of pharmaceutical aluminum manufacturers is usually higher than that of printing factories, generally 200-500KG. The printing factory's MOQ is around 50-100KG. Therefore, for the selling price that requires small batch orders, the quantity of outer printing is more suitable for the initial purchase of new products. 3. The cost of printing products. Printing with low MOQ tends to have a higher unit price, and the purchase unit cost of printed matter will also increase. Therefore, for the purchase of printed medicinal aluminum foil, it is necessary to consider the finished product and sales volume, and choose the most suitable printing method.   If you have questions about printing medicinal foils or purchase concerns, you can consult us for professional advice.
